About Us

SJOut is up and running from June 2024, offering before and after school care for the children at St James’ Primary School. We are regulated by Ofsted and our Ofsted registration number is 2793624. You can see our Ofsted Report at  https://files.ofsted.gov.uk/v1/file/50304476

 

We are Food Hygiene trained and compliant, registered with the Food and Commercial Team at Tunbridge Wells Borough Council.

 

We register to accept Tax-Free Childcare and many types of childcare vouchers, such as Busy Bees, The Co-operative, Care4, Computershare, Fideliti, Edenred, RG, Kiddivoucheres.

 

Also some of you are able to declare us as a registered childcare provider to enable you to claim specific working tax credits.

Tax Free Childcare can help with the cost of paying for childcare. For every £8 you pay into the account, the government will top it up by £2.

Probably most importantly though it means we’re regulated and inspected to perform against standards which ensure our children continue to learn and develop well, whilst remaining happy and healthy.

Our Club’s manager is Jane Comeau MBE

Jane has worked in the childcare sector for over 35 years, the last 29 as a Registered childminder employing assistants as her business grew.

She has been awarded Outstanding at her last four Ofsted inspections.

She has Early Years Teacher Status as well as Level 5 Management qualification.

Throughout her career Jane has also been a keen volunteer, most recently spending nine years as a Trustee of PACEY (Professional Association of Childcare and Early Years) six of those as Chair. During this time she engaged frequently with Government departments, contributing to meetings with Deputy Prime Minister, DfE and Ofsted.

Jane was awarded an MBE in 2021 New Years Honours List for her services to education.

 

All of our staff have significant experience of working with children and undertake professional development training. All staff members are DBS checked. Every session we have a First Aid qualified member of staff. We maintain a staff/child ratio of 1:15 which is well within the latest statutory requirements but is a service standard we set ourselves and for EYFS children we have a staff ratio of 1:8.

 

Our staffing strategy is to follow experience, that is parenting experience and childcare and education experience, Jane brings this in spades to our childcare business, we are very fortunate to have secured her participation, we hope you’ll support us all wholeheartedly.
